December 6, 2018

Please prepare yourself for the possible winter storm this weekend of Central Virginia.

Here are the key points as of Wednesday evening:

-We have increasing confidence in significant snow along and west of I-95. Highest confidence across the southern Piedmont.
-Based on the latest forecast, impacts could begin as early as Saturday night, but are most likely Sunday into Monday morning.
-A wintry mix of precipitation may occur along and just east of I-95, with primarily rain along the coast (including Hampton Roads).
-Persistent onshore flow may allow for some coastal flooding late Sunday into Monday.
-Wind gusts of 40-50 mph will be possible along the immediate coast with hazardous marine conditions.
-Uncertainties still exist: Changes in the forecast track will greatly change the impacts felt across the local area – Continue to monitor the latest forecasts from NWS Wakefield.

Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. The first formal briefing will be provided on Thursday.
