Centerville Volunteer Fire-Rescue Co. 3 mourns the great loss to our company, our community, and to the Goochland County Department of Fire-Rescue family.

Garland “Pete” N. Gregory, Sr., 77, of Goochland, VA, passed away peacefully among family in the late hours of Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Born May 11, 1940 to the late Mattie and Charles Gregory, Sr., he is preceded in death by brothers Edward and Charles Gregory, Jr., and great grandchild, Noah Toney.

Pete proudly dedicated 50 years of service volunteering with the Centerville Co. 3 Fire Department, earning him an Honorary Fire-Rescue Chief designation from the Goochland County Fire Department in 2017.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Gregory, and children Garland (Christie) Gregory, Jr., Donna (Cecil) Towner, and Tina Gregory Rudd. He is also survived by siblings Richard Gregory and Shirley Rohrer, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Heather Cahill, BSN, RN, and Dr. Tamera Barnes, MD.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 11:00 am at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, 1706 St. Matthew’s Lane, Richmond VA 23233 with a reception to follow. Please follow Ashland Road to Rockville Road to St. Matthews Lane to get to Church.
